Deacon Raleigh St. James (vox1, guitar, songwriting)
Jim "the beard" Hurley (lead guitar/bass)
Edgars Klepers (bass/sound prod)
"Smoky" Joe Mohring (drums)
Dani-Rad (vox2)
Each song; a story of sensory detail and characters, the plot twists, the river bends.
The Deacon gathers dreamers for healing and connection. We're black and blue, still true. Everybody has scars.
Let's celebrate hope and the revival of our joy...
in music.
The Deacon Raleigh St. James Band is in a situation with funk rock, smokes with punk, hip-hugs honkytonk, and gets sprinkled with psychedelia. Deacon Raleigh is a homegrown singer-songwriter, self taught on guitar. The bucolic Snoqualmie Valley and greater Seattle area; his playground. His electric set is packed with English tubes and hip-shaking indie-rock.
Jim "the beard" Hurley is finally getting the opportunity to put down the bass and pick up his first love; strat lead guitar. Jim has been playing in bands w/ Deacon Raleigh for many years. Jim also plays lead/fronts On Common Ground, and bass in Fuzzy Horrible while Deacon Raleigh fronts that band.
Edgars Kepers is a multi-instrumentalist who joined Deacon Raleigh in the Summer of 2025 on bass after a long affiliation with his imrovised jams at the Twin Dragon in Duvall. He contributes to many projects in the studio and onstage in the greater Seattle area. A sound engineer and our in-house expert, he makes our rehearsal recordings top shelf.
Originally from rural upstate NY, Joe transplanted himself to the PNW and connected with Deacon Raleigh at a rock jam (Twin Dragon) in Duvall. After many improvised sessions, Deacon Raleigh invited Joe to take up the sticks for him in Spring of 2025. His heartbeat is the foundation of the new lineup this season.
After years at the kit for Deacon Raleigh St James, Dani-Rad @rockinkitti now stands with us at the mic and adds the sacred feminine to the vocals, turning the songs in a more textured, soulful, and vibrant direction. Dani is a Snoqualmie Valley scene fixture with a long local connection to the music community. She also plays percussion in local band @BuddyDoWrong.
